The registration fee for the Japan Song Contest is IDR 30,000 per person , which includes a ticket to the event on Day 1 of Area Creator 7 ( Payment for the Japan Song Contest registration is due after contestants have been declared eligible).

The curation will be announced no later than: June 14, 2026

After qualifying, participants will be invited to a WhatsApp group to receive all information related to the competition.

The deadline for submitting BGM/BGV and participant photos is June 27, 2026. Failure to submit by the specified deadline will result in disqualification. Visuals/BGV are not required

The Japan Song Contest is open to the public.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR JAPAN SONG CONTEST PARTICIPANTS

1. Participants must create 1 introductory video with their personal profile.

2. Participants must create 1 singing video (Refrain Only) with a maximum duration of 2 minutes using the song they will perform on the day of the competition.

3. The introduction video and the singing video (Chorus Only) must be submitted by June 13, 2026, at the latest, coinciding with the closing of contest registration.

4. The song participants perform is a song of their choice from Japan (only 1 song).

5. The song must be the full version.

6. Songs submitted during initial registration and already used for participant curation may not be changed.

7. Participants are allowed to add an intro, and the added intro must be included in the submitted song.

8. Japan Song contest participants must submit a photo of themselves, which will be published.

9. If you wish to add a Background Visual (BGV), you may submit one in the specified size; otherwise, the Background Visual (BGV) provided by the organizers will be used. Screen size for BGV:

   • Visuals must be in a 36:9 aspect ratio with a size of 2560x720p.

   • Visuals must be in MP4 format.

   • Audio must be in MP3 format.

   • If the visual is synchronized with the audio, simply submit the visual that is already synchronized with the audio in MP4 format.

10. The maximum duration of the song performed is 10 minutes .

11. Participants will be provided with in-ear monitors (IEMs); however, you are welcome to bring your own earphones or IEMs if you prefer.

12. There will be no sound check or technical rehearsal.

13. Participant numbers will be assigned by the committee.

CONTEST SELECTION AND JUDGING PROCESS

1. Participants will undergo the first round of selection based on the singing videos submitted to the organizing committee during registration

2. After passing the selection, contestants are required to pay a Japan Song Contest registration fee of Rp. 30,000 per person , which includes an event ticket for the competition.

3. Next, participants will be invited to the competition group and will perform in the Area Creator event at the Taksu Room in the Dharma Negara Alaya Building; the schedule will be updated by the committee in the competition participants’ group.

4. Judging criteria:

   • Vocal technique (40%)

   • Pitch accuracy (30%)

   • ⁠Lyric accuracy / articulation (15%)

   • ⁠Performance (15%)

CONTEST PRIZES

The Japan Song Contest prizes are awarded to 3 winners:

1st Place: Certificate and cash prize of Rp. 1,000,000

2nd Place : Certificate and cash prize of Rp. 700,000

3rd Place: Certificate and cash prize of Rp. 500,000

All participants are required to attend and re-register at the Creator Area event at Dharma Negara Alaya on July 11 for the competition day and July 12, 2026, for the announcement of the winners. Information regarding the prize presentation, competition schedule, and specific announcements will be shared in the WhatsApp group.
